Rastislav (Rasto) Berlansky, CFA
Portfolio Manager

Rasto is a portfolio manager and securities analyst for the Absolute Value Equity portfolios. His experience in private equity proves valuable in the estimation of the intrinsic value of a business enterprise, and he is particularly adept at interpreting complex accounting structures. Rasto joined the firm in 2003. Previously, he was an analyst with LLR Partners, Inc., a leading private equity firm (2000-2003), and a senior associate for PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP (1998-2000) in its corporate valuation group. Rasto is a CFA charterholder and earned a B.S. in Business Administration from Villanova University in 1998, graduating summa cum laude.

Michelle K. Fields, CFA
Portfolio Manager

Michelle is a portfolio manager and securities analyst on the Diversified Value Equity team. She contributes to the quantitative and fundamental analysis of securities for the Diversified Value Equity portfolios by consistently applying Brandywine Global's disciplined exclusionary process and is the lead portfolio manager for the Diversified Mid Cap Value strategy. Michelle joined the firm in 1995. She is a CFA charterholder and earned an M.B.A. in Finance and a B.S. in Finance from the University of Delaware, graduating cum laude.

Michael J. Fleisher
Portfolio Manager

Mike is a portfolio manager on the Diversified Value Equity team with lead oversight of the Dynamic Large Cap Value Equity strategy and shared oversight of the Diversified Large Cap Value Extended Equity - 130/30 strategy. In addition, Mike oversees the quantitative development and analysis function for Brandywine Global's Diversified Value Equity strategies and contributes to the firm's ongoing research into value investing. Before joining the firm in 1997, Mike was a senior fund accountant for Merrill Lynch (1995-1997), and a mutual fund analyst for SEI Corporation (1993-1995). Mike earned a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Delaware.

Earl J. Gaskins
Managing Director & Portfolio Manager

Earl serves as lead portfolio manager for our Socially Responsible Large Cap Value Equity strategy and is co-lead portfolio manager for our Fundamental Large Cap Value Equity strategy. In addition, he is responsible for research coverage of the chemicals and energy sectors, contributing insights and stock recommendations to all of the firm's Large Cap Value Equity strategies. Earl joined the firm in 1996, bringing with him 18 years of industry experience. Previously, he was vice president, portfolio manager, and director of research with Provident Capital Management, Inc. (1985-1996); director of the Office of Community Development of the City of Philadelphia (1980-1985), and a securities analyst with Provident National Bank (1973-1980). Earl earned a J.D. from Temple University and a B.A. in Political Science from Yale University.

David F. Hoffman, CFA
Managing Director & Portfolio Manager

David is co-lead portfolio manager for the firm's Global Fixed Income and related strategies. He joined the firm in 1995, bringing with him 20 years of industry experience. Previously, David was president of Hoffman Capital, a global financial futures investment firm (1991-1995); head of fixed income investments at Columbus Circle Investors (1983-1990); senior vice president and portfolio manager at INA Capital Management (1979-1982), and fixed income portfolio manager at Provident National Bank (1975-1979). David is a CFA charterholder and earned a B.A. in Art History from Williams College. He is a member of the firm's Executive Board, currently serving as the Board's chair.

Patrick S. Kaser, CFA
Portfolio Manager

Patrick is a member of the Large Cap Value Equity team. He serves as lead portfolio manager for the Large Cap Core Equity strategy and provides research coverage for the Fundamental Large Cap Value strategy. Patrick is responsible for researching the healthcare and insurance sectors, contributing insights and stock recommendations. He joined the firm in 1998. Before becoming a portfolio manager, Patrick worked for the firm as a senior marketing associate (1998-2000). He was also with Dean Witter as an account executive (1996-1997). Patrick is a CFA charterholder and earned an M.B.A. in Finance from the University of Delaware and a B.A. in Political Science from Arizona State University. He is a member of the CFA Society of Philadelphia and has been quoted in The Wall Street Journal, BusinessWeek, and The Washington Post and has appeared on Bloomberg television and radio.

Joseph J. Kirby
Portfolio Manager

Joe is a portfolio manager and securities analyst on the Diversified Value Equity team. He contributes to the quantitative and fundamental analysis of securities for the Diversified Value Equity portfolios by consistently applying Brandywine Global's disciplined exclusionary process and has lead oversight of the Diversified Large Cap Value strategy and shared oversight of the Diversified Large Cap Value Extended Equity - 130/30 strategy. He has been a member of the Diversified Value Equity team since joining Brandywine Global in 1995. Previously he was with CoreStates Financial Corporation as an auditor (1992-1994). Joe earned a B.S. in Finance from DeSales University.

Scott L. Kuensell, CFA
Managing Director & Portfolio Manager

Scott serves as lead portfolio manager for Brandywine Global's Traditional Large Cap Value Equity strategy and is responsible for research coverage of the aerospace/defense, automotive, packaged goods, and retail sectors, contributing insights and stock recommendations to all of the firm's Large Cap Value Equity strategies. He joined the firm in 1995, bringing with him 17 years of industry experience. Previously, Scott was director of institutional equity sales and manager of Schroder, Wertheim and Company, Inc.'s Philadelphia office (1979-1995). He is a CFA charterholder and earned an A.B. in Psychology from Princeton University.

Paul R. Lesutis, CFA

Paul serves as co-lead portfolio manager of our Fundamental Large Cap Value Equity strategy. In addition, he is responsible for research coverage of the banking and paper and forest products industries, contributing insights and stock recommendations to all of the firm's Large Cap Value Equity strategies. Paul joined the firm in 1991 and has 30+ years of industry experience. Previously, he served as executive vice president, chief investment officer and portfolio manager with Provident Capital Management, Inc. (1984-1991); director of equity research and portfolio manager with First Pennsylvania Bank (1971-1984), and a securities analyst with E.I. du Pont de Nemours (1966-1971). Paul is a CFA charterholder and earned an M.B.A. from Drexel University and a B.S. in Accounting from St. Joseph's University. He is a member of the firm's Executive Board.

Gregory P. Manley, CFA
Portfolio Manager / Research Analyst

Greg is a portfolio manager for our Domestic Microcap strategy and provides research support for the other Absolute Value Equity portfolios. He uses a blend of fundamental and quantitative analysis to identify undervalued assets and businesses that have the potential to return to a more appropriate valuation. During his career at Brandywine Global, Greg has served as a fundamental and quantitative analyst as well as the lead trader for the Diversified Value Equity portfolios. This diverse experience has helped him develop a unique skill set and a fresh approach to value investing. Greg joined the firm in 2000. Previously, he was with Trinity Investment Management as a securities trader (1996-2000). Greg holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and earned a B.A. in Accounting from Pennsylvania State University. He is a member of the CFA Society of Philadelphia and the CFA Institute.

John (Jack) P. McIntyre, CFA
Associate Portfolio Manager, Senior Research Analyst

As associate portfolio manager and senior research analyst for the firm's Global Fixed Income and related strategies, Jack provides valuable analytical and strategic insight. He joined the firm in 1998, bringing with him 11 years of industry experience. Previously, he held positions as market strategist with McCarthy, Crisanti & Maffei, Inc. (1995-1998); senior fixed income analyst with Technical Data, a division of Thomson Financial Services (1992-1995); quantitative associate with Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. (1990), and investment analyst with the Public Employee Retirement Administration of Massachusetts (1987-1989). Jack is a CFA charterholder and earned an M.B.A. in Finance from the Leonard N. Stern Graduate School of Business at New York University and a B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

Henry F. Otto
Managing Director & Portfolio Manager

Henry is the founder and co-lead portfolio manager of the Diversified Value Equity strategies. Prior to joining Brandywine Global in 1988, he was with Dimensional Fund Advisors, Inc., where he managed and traded small cap portfolios and developed computer systems to structure portfolios and analyze performance (1984-1987), and the Chicago Board of Trade as a financial economist developing financial-based futures and options (1982-1984). He earned both an M.B.A. in Finance and Economics and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Chicago. Henry is a member of the firm's Executive Board.

Stephen S. Smith

Steve is co-lead portfolio manager for the firm's Global Fixed Income and related strategies. He joined the firm in 1991, bringing with him 23 years of industry experience. Previously, Steve was with Mitchell Hutchins Asset Management, Inc. as managing director of taxable fixed income (1988-1991); Provident Capital Management, Inc. as senior vice president overseeing taxable fixed income (1984-1988); Munsch & Smith Management as a founding partner (1980-1984), and First Pennsylvania Bank as vice president and portfolio manager in the fixed income division (1976-1980). Steve earned a B.S. in Economics and Business Administration from Xavier University. He is a member of the firm's Executive Board.

Steven M. Tonkovich
Managing Director & Portfolio Manager

Steve is co-lead portfolio manager of the Diversified Value Equity strategies. He plays an integral role in the team's continual refinement of the Diversified Value Equity investment process and the firm's ongoing research into value investing. Prior to joining the firm in 1989, he was with the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania as a research analyst in the Finance Department (1987-1989); Booz Allen Hamilton, Inc. as a research assistant (summer of 1988), and the Moore School of Electrical Engineering of the University of Pennsylvania as a research assistant (1986-1987). Steve earned a B.S.E in Finance and Regional Science from the Wharton School. He is a member of the firm's Executive Board.

Edward A. Trumpbour
Managing Director & Portfolio Manager

Ed is portfolio manager for the Absolute Value Equity portfolios. He joined the firm in 1996, bringing 15 years of industry experience with him. Previously, Ed was with Delaware Investment Advisors, a subsidiary of Delaware Management Holdings, as vice president and senior portfolio manager with the firm's institutional large cap value team. Also while at Delaware, he launched the Delaware Value Fund (renamed Delaware Small Cap Value Fund), a Morningstar Five-Star rated fund investing in small and mid capitalization equities (1985-1996). Additionally, Ed served as an analyst with Gabelli Asset Management (1984-1985). He earned an M.B.A. in Finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a B.S.B.A. in Finance from Georgetown University. Ed is a member of Brandywine Global's Executive Board.
