Thomas Alex
Senior Director - Information Technology

As Brandywine Global's senior director of information technology, Tom oversees the planning, deployment and management of all core investment management systems. This includes front, middle and back office applications, hosted internally or outsourced. Prior to joining Brandywine Global on a full-time basis in May 2007, Tom was with Legg Mason, the firm's parent company, for 10 years. He has 22 years experience with software development and corporate IT. Before joining Legg Mason, Tom performed systems development work in banking, consumer mortgage services, health care and transportation. He earned both his M.S. and B.S. in Computer Science from Loyola College of Maryland.

Luz E. Carey
Senior Director - Operations

As Brandywine Global's Director of Risk Management, Lucy is responsible for overseeing operational and credit risk matters on a firm wide basis. Additionally, she is responsible for managing the performance attribution analysis function and supports firm efforts related to the ongoing measurement of market risk. Lucy, one of Brandywine Global's first employees, joined the firm in 1986. Previously, she was with The Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company as a statistical research assistant. Lucy attended West Chester University.

Mark P. Glassman, CPA
Chief Administrative Officer

As chief administrative officer, Mark is responsible for all areas of finance and administration as well as planning and management oversight of operations and technology. He joined the firm in 2005, bringing with him 18 years of industry experience. Prior to being appointed to his current role in January 2007, Mark served as controller and director of finance, responsible for accounting and related compliance, financial systems and administration, financial reporting and analysis, and business planning and measurement. Before joining Brandywine Global in February 2005, Mark served three years as president and CEO of ImageMax, Inc., a national, publicly held document management services company, after two years as its chief financial officer. Mark began his career in public accounting, serving six years as an auditor with Deloitte & Touche. He then joined Right Management Consultants, Inc., an international, publicly held career transition and human resources consulting firm, where he served three years as corporate accounting manager and two years as corporate director of planning and development. Mark earned a B.A. in Business Administration from Temple University and is a Certified Public Accountant. He has been an adjunct professor and guest lecturer in accounting, auditing, and management. He is a member of the Greater Philadelphia Senior Executive Group and the Business Leaders Network (Philadelphia), and serves as Chairman of the Doylestown Township (Pennsylvania) Ways and Means Committee.

Chris Marzullo
Senior Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer

As Brandywine Global's senior counsel and chief compliance officer, Chris is responsible for overseeing and managing all investment compliance matters within the organization and, together with the firm's Compliance Committee, implementing all necessary actions to ensure continued achievement of the objectives of Brandywine Global's compliance program. Chris joined Brandywine Global as interim chief compliance officer in March 2007. He was appointed to the role on a permanent basis in June 2007, bringing with him 14 years of industry experience. He has substantial experience in investment management legal and compliance, having served as associate general counsel with Legg Mason, Inc., Brandywine Global's parent company, for eight years (1998-2006). In this role, Chris counseled Legg Mason's investment advisory firms providing fixed income, equity and alternative investment management services to a full range of clients. Previously, he served as a litigation associate with Weinberg & Green LLC (1993-1998). Chris received his J. D., graduating magna cum laude, from the University of Baltimore School of Law, and earned his B.S. in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University.

Jennifer Mollman
Senior Director - Human Resources

As Brandywine Global's senior director of human resources, Jennifer is responsible for developing the firm's human resource programs and for managing human resources staff. She provides guidance to the senior management and human resources staff on all employment relations, EEO, compensation, benefits, hiring, recruiting, performance measurement, training & staff development, and personnel policies. Jennifer was appointed to this role in January 2007, following two years of supporting Brandywine Global in a consulting capacity (2004-2006). She brought 21 years of industry experience with her. Previously, Jennifer held several positions with the Comcast Corporation including vice president of human resources/quality leadership (1997-2002). She also served as managing director of total quality leadership at Southern New England Telecommunications (SNET) (1994-1997), and was forecast inventory manager and retail distribution manager with The Torrington Company, a subsidiary of Ingersoll Rand (1985-1994). She earned a B.S. in Business Communications from Chestnut Hill College and holds a Human Resources Masters Certificate from Villanova University. Jennifer was honored with a nomination for Delaware Valley Human Resources Person of the Year for 2006.

David Monahan
Vice President and Controller

As Brandywine Global's controller, Dave is responsible for a variety of internal and external financial initiatives including oversight of accounting, financial reporting and systems, audits and examinations, and ensuring compliance with Sarbanes Oxley regulations. He joined the firm in 2001, bringing with him six years of industry experience. Previously, Dave was with Energy Assets as the accounting manager (1999-2001), and the Philadelphia Macaroni Company as assistant controller (1996-1999). He earned an M.B.A. in Accounting from St. Joseph's University and a B.A. in Political Science from La Salle University.

Brian A. Shaw
Vice President - IT Infrastructure

As Brandywine Global's vice president of IT infrastructure, Brian is supported by five associates who focus on the firm's network, hardware and production control issues. He joined the firm in 2000, bringing with him 13 years of industry experience. Previously, Brian served as manager of IT services with COMHAR Inc. (1987-2000); was a PC technician with Pep Boys, (1996-1999), and a consultant for Horizon House (1998). Brian earned a B.A. in Mathematics from La Salle University and is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer.

Gail Steele
Director - Office Administration

As Brandywine Global's director of office administration, Gail is responsible for oversight of the firm's facilities management, including her instrumental role in coordinating the firm's relocation from Wilmington, DE to its current headquarters in Philadelphia, PA. She also manages the firm's administrative staff and acts as the firm's proxy administrator. Gail joined the firm in 1989. Previously, she was with Real Estate Services Limited as the administrative assistant to the organization's appraisers. She holds several certificates in business disciplines central to her role.
